Project: DE-350S

Finally I'm back to modding smile . Project:DE-350S.

Functions:
- HTPC
- Router
- Home PC

Planned Specs:

Processor: Intel Core i3-3245
I choose the i3-3245 processor for its HD4000 graphics since i will not use any discrete graphics for this project.

Motherboard: Gigabyte H77N-WIFI
It has dual gigabit Ethernet ports for the router function and a Wifi for the access point. It also supports WIDI, this means i can wirelessly connect to my Samsung Smart TV smile

Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB

I choose low profile since i will be using the M350 ITX casing.

HDD: Seagate Momentus 500GB

Casing: Mini-box M350 ITX Case

PSU: Mini-box Pico PSU 150-XT

Others:

- Antec Veris basic (Imon Inside) for the HTPC remote Control
- 80 Watts power brick for pico PSU
- WiDi Adapter for my Smart TV
After market coolers smile Still looking for low profile coolers...

Will post pictures and developments in this thread.

Re: Project: DE-350S

Today, will work on the casing... Here's the little overview of the casing:

The M350 is Industry's smallest universal case (192 x 210 x 62mm , 2.5L) capable of housing mini-ITX boards ranging from tiny Atoms to fully featured desktop or mobile CPUs. The M350 chassis permits fanless operation (natural air convection via hundreds of tiny holes) for TDP < 10 watts and CPU-only fan for TDP <= 65watts.

Features and Specifications:

» Smallest, universal mini-ITX enclosure
» Fanless, natural convection design
» Fits Intel stock CPU heatsink
» Hidden area for USB / WIFI / Storage
» Smart front power button
» Vesa, DIN-Rail, Wall Mount options
» SMA antenna hole
» Up to two 2.5" drives (includes one HDD bracket included - additional mounting bracket available)
» Size: 192 x 210 x 62mm
» Volume: 2.5L
» Area for custom OEM logo
» Superior RFI shielding capabilities
» ROHS compliant

The casing is constructed of steel and the front panel is plastics. The only problem I see on this case so far is its inner part which is not fully painted. Its not pleasing to the eyes when you open the case. To give you an idea here's picture. the white part is the unpainted part of the casing.

sorry for the blurred pics. I will try to re-upload later:)

I've decided to paint the unpainted areas instead of painting the entire casing... After cleaning the case, i've covered the area not to be painted with news paper and masking tape.

Test fit smile

2_img_7164.jpg

m350 front panel is made of plastic. I'm decided not to use the cover since I don't like the build. And also I need to mount the Antec Veris Basic in the front.

2_m350_cover.jpg

Behind the cover is the circuit board for power button, USB ports and LED (power indicator).

Next phase step is the front panel... Will post the progress later.

Re: Project: DE-350S

Antec Veris Basic is designed to be mounter the 3.5 bay so mounting on M350 casing is not possible. I have to comeup with a plan to fit this device to the casing.

2_img_1621.jpg

Here what I'm planning to do: Remove the PCB (Antec veris) and mount it over on the casing's front panel board.

Guys need your opinion here smile
